CNC Operator

We are seeking a talented CNC Operator to join our team. The secret to our 40 years of success has been hiring and training great people. The CNC Operator reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for assisting with the set-up, calibration, and operation of machines used in production processes. Primarily accountable for inspecting machining operations and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools. In addition, determine and correct minor machine malfunctions working from verbal or written instructions, diagrams, or models.

 Key Responsibilities include:

  • Study job orders and interpret blueprints to establish machining operations to be performed.
  • Set up and operate machine tools to perform repetitive machining operations, such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, planning, honing, broaching, grinding or other machining operations.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Prepare etching solution and immerse metal parts or workpiece in etching solution.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • May enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerical controlled (CNC) machine tools.
  • Perform quality checks as necessary.
  • Complete SPC charts.
  • Perform Pre-use and TPM inspections at the start of each shift and report any sub-standard conditions or hazards found to supervisor.
  • Measure dimensions of a piece of metal.
  • Determine when to reset a machine if not cutting within tolerance levels and adjust machine settings when needed.

General Requirements:

  • Ability to read blueprints and must have basic math skills (decimal systems, subtraction, addition)
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow work instructions.
  • Experience in manufacturing and quality systems
  • Previous machine operating experience
  • Ability to keep a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High School Diploma
  • Technical analysis and problem solving ability
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Team Player
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs
